In practical aid of Government’s push towards sustainable development, this PPP transaction is to secure a 25-year Concessionaire for an existing terminal and runway facility. Agreement included the significant upgrading to cover cargo hub, logistics facility, and a string of supporting amenity.
The signing of Agreement in Feb-2021 between the Delta State Government and the successful Concessionaire marked the first ever brownfield facility successfully concessioned in history of the country’s aviation industry – to the acclaim of Federal Authorities, the Aviation Ministry, and FAAN.
Existing terminal, tower, and 3.4km runway Cat-C facility to be expanded under concession intervention with scope-upgrade to include cargo handling, processing facilities, MRO facility, logistics operations hub, and support amenities amongst others.
Support investment to also include business/industrial office park, hospitality provisions, and possible capacity expansion on existing terminal.
